Moms and Muffins (March)

I was so excited to get invitations to join my girls for Moms and Muffins at their school.  Unfortunately Shelby had the stomach flu so it was just Kadence and I again this year.  That is a great thing except that Shelby has been looking forward to this for two years!

Kadence chose the chocolate chip one and I went with classic blueberry.  I love sitting and just talking to her while we eat muffins.  I think it's a great thing the school does.  I did a make up moms and muffins with Shelby when she was feeling better but didn't take any pictures.  I love my girls and I love spending time with them.  I love that they don't mind me going to the school and sitting by them.  I hope they never turn into bratty teenagers who are embarrassed by their parents.  :)

Moab (March)

We had planned to go to Boston in March for David to go to a Teaching Convention and to visit my family, but due to the stomach flu making David miss class he couldn't miss to go to Boston.  We had to cancel our trip and work it around his class.  We were going to be getting home a day and a half before Kadence's hospital adventure and we were really looking forward to spending quality family time together.  Because of that we decided to go somewhere closer so we could still make memories.  We decided to go to Moab with Jeff, come home for his class, then leave in the morning for California. It wasn't what we were looking forward to, but it was still a lot of fun.  When we arrived we went to the "golden arch" for dinner.
We hiked to delicate arch as well.  (I have more pictures but they are on Davids computer)
We were only there a two nights but the girls were exhausted from all the fun.

We decided out of nowhere that we would take a sunset hummer tour.  It was a great choice!
Both girls wanted to keep their hands up, but Shelby was beyond dedicated.  She kept them up clear until our first stop which was about 45 minutes in.

Pictures never do justice, but it was absolutely gorgeous!  The tour guide took us up a huge hill backwards, made sure we went down a hill with our eyes closed (even his) and told us a lot of the educational facts that we had no clue about.

It really was a spectacular end to our first day and I'm so glad we did it!
We went to eat and Jay's Roman Orgy was on the menu....I didn't chance it.
The next day was windy, but we managed to have a good time anyways.  We tried more local restaurants, went to Canyonlands and swam in the hotel pool.

I was hoping to have blogged it a while ago so that I could add more details, but getting it on here at all is at least something.  The girls had fun and so did the adults.  I am excited to go back again in a few years.

Kadence's Party!

Kadence decided a while ago that she wanted to have a ChuckECheese birthday party.  I was really nervous so I told her that we would decide in May what kind of party.  She still really wanted a ChuckECheese party though.  I was afraid that she wouldn't be able to do much and the idea of kids bumping into her stressed me out.  Luckily, daddy said he would go with her everywhere and make sure she was safe.  Not that I couldn't, but I tend to get a little distracted so I was nervous I would let her get hurt on my watch.  We picked June 27th for her party because we can't really do it anywhere near her actual birthday due to friends being on vacation.  We've struggled in the past with that.  It worked out great!  She had 8 friends come which was what she had wanted because it was her 8th birthday party. On our way down to Layton she fell asleep....who does that?!
It worked out because she had plenty of energy and spunk for her party!

Jeff is always so good to take our family picture each party, thanks Jeffy!
Chloe and Naomi made the drive from Logan too which made Kadence so happy!
The kids all seemed to have fun playing and of course we had tokens for the adults too
 Ashley and Naomi
 Robby and Chloe
 Brinley
 Kenzley

 Sarah and Emi

Odessa (Of course we loved the little sisters!)

 Skyeley (Another little sister)
 Davisson (The only boy invited)
Addi (Not so little, little sister)

 Jeffy

Because it was a rockin' theme the kids played air guitar with ChuckE
When Shelby had her party here she blew the candles out before she was sung to and they had to relight them.  Kadence covered her mouth so she wouldn't
 Make a wish!
Most her friends! (Brinley didn't want to be in the picture)
 One very happy birthday girl!
 Ticket Blaster time!
Because she can't bend, jump, twist, etc we tried to have her catch tickets in her dress.  It didn't work super well, but it caught a few.

Counting her tickets.  David unfortunately missed the "1,000" ticket.

She was spoiled by her friends!

She was so excited to get her pocket knife from daddy!
She couldn't dance on screen so she had her ChuckE dance
She picked this giant ChuckE as her prize from her tickets.  We bought her a small one for her bday which she loved but she had to have the HUGE one.
We were so happy Ashley and Breanne could come too!

Our dentist was having a Frozen night in the park with yummy treats, Elsa and Anna as well as the movie on a huge screen when it got dark.  We weren't planning on going, but then the party got over 15 minutes before and we were 15 minutes away so it worked perfectly.  The girls were so excited to meet the princesses and had to stand oldest with oldest and youngest with youngest.  They got their autographs as well.  We stayed and had a lot of fun but had to leave mid movie.  We got cold due to the lack of planning.....we only had jackets and no blankets.
We always do pictures at ChuckECheese

Here's what the pinata looked like.
Kadence had so much fun and started thanking me about a week before her party and still hasn't stopped thanking me.  I'm so glad she has friends who are willing to make the drive to support her and celebrate with her.  I am also glad she is getting her party in June, birthday in July and baptism in August.  She deserves a summer long celebration!!!
