Along with the Cache Valley Unplugged program, the girls have a summer to do list they made. We've kind of been slacking at getting them crossed off because we've done more of the badges than the list so far. The girls wanted a "star party". This wasn't really going to be much other than looking through a telescope but we got excited. Jeff came and brought his telescope so that we had two and Rachels family joined us as well. The girls were excited all day and made sure their shirts had stars and their earrings had stars. I made grilled cheese for lunch and cut them into stars. (Well the shape wasn't so much a star, but their were 5 lines and 5 points so it works!)
We ate space spaghetti with meteor sauce. (meat sauce)
We had astronaut pouch drinks, milky way and starburst candy, cosmic brownies, glow sticks and crescent rolls.
David is out of practice when it comes to his telescope, but everyone had a great time anyways.
Another thing on the to do list was to go to the Willow Park Zoo. We went today and it was the perfect weather, warm but not hot.
I haven't ever been able to see more than two turtles, but 3 were jsut hanging out so I was excited.
Then we found two more by the fence. This guy didn't like to be touched
We took a picture with him anyways.
This other one didn't mind getting touched so the girls got to "pet" him.
It was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed ourselves. We saw baby ducks as well as a baby peacock which was neat.
Speaking of baby ducks, the girls put "feed the ducks" on our to do list. We went to first dam and fed them bread. There were ducks that were all black which was interesting. Shelby loved that our bread was still good enough to eat and she ate quite a bit of it.
Aggie Ice Cream also made the list. We were so happy that Rachels family (minus Aaron and Kalli) were able to join us. We also were glad David was there for long enough to order and scarf it down. He got a job interview so he had to rush off. (He did get the job!)
I sure do love my family and I love getting out and doing things with them.
