Happy 6th Birthday Shelby!

I can not believe another year has come and gone and my baby is another year older.  She has been so excited all month which is kind of fun.  She decided to have a tea party birthday party this year (which I will have in a separate post) and wanted all things fancy.  We started the morning with a display of presents and donuts as usual.
One of the presents on her list happened to be "a flower vase with a flower in it" which dad made happen.
She no longer requires me to cut her donut and give her a fork to eat it!
We did a few presents in the morning...

Notice how she very carefully laid out the shirt Kadence gave her....along with another thing off her list, "a JOY thing for my room"
Then she opened a few more things off her list from mom and dad.  "A coloring book" a "book" and "a bookmark"
After school we opened more presents

Cotton Candy machine and floss sugar!
I had to help pour because its hot
It didn't go super well, but it tasted good.
 Mine was a little better
Kadence was excited for her favorite color!
Hers turned out best and she thought it was hilarious
David wasn't very good at it so I had to make him a new one after he burnt his.
Once we moved we decided to stop having a family party.  We figured we would let the girls pick where to go to eat for dinner instead.  Shelby picked Golden Corral.....REALLY?!  I hate hate hate buffets and that is where she picked!  I tried mentioning a few other great restaurants in Logan but she wasn't having it.  My last attempt was to see if our neighbor who works at Olive Garden was working.  Shelby can't resist seeing people she knows so I knew it would work.  Well, she was just leaving work but decided to have her family eat there and invited us to join them.  Shelby was back and forth and knew the decision was up to her.  I finally asked her why she wanted Golden Corral so bad. She told me that she saw a commercial and wanted to try the chocolate fountain.  I got excited and told her we could dip things in chocolate at home if she wanted instead.  She then chose to do that and go to Olive Garden with her friends.  (Hallelujah!!) We had a pretty busy day, but she was able to call a few family members back in between dinner and chocolate dipping.
Naomi and her used the chocolate as lipstick.
All in all Shelby had a GREAT birthday and felt so special all day.  She had been looking forward to turning six since the first day of January.  She is a super smart kid who loves learning.  She loves the idea of scientists.  She gets super excited about anything adventurous.  She has sarcasm down to perfection.  She loves to joke and tease.  She colors a picture multiple times a day and usually gives them to everyone around her.  She loves Kindergarten and Mrs. Cook.  She prays constantly that Kadence's surgery will go well.  She is super tender hearted and hates knowing she has upset you.  She's sassy and girly but loves to hold bugs and do anything with her daddy.  I love that girl of mine and can't wait to watch her grow over the next year!
