Zoo

My friend Andrea works at Primary Childrens and got our family tickets to a VIP evening at the zoo sponsored by Primary Childrens....nice of her right?! We were given enough tickets for our family and David's parents to go. We were given free Chick-fil-a for dinner which of course was delicious! Then we went out to see the animals. I don't have a picture of them with the girls, but there were mascots in the main entrance area. Kadence loved them and Shelby was TERRIFIED! One of them peaked over the edge of the stroller, and she just about jumped out over the edge to get away. It was so sad because they had no idea how scared she was before they approached her and then they felt bad when she started freaking out.

Kadence was brave and touched two snakes, a turtle, and an opossum. I was very surprised since she is terrified of dogs and cats.

Shelby struggles when it comes to drinking from a cup. She puts her face in and laps it up like a puppy. It cracks me up!

It was so great to be able to go to the zoo at night so that Kadence didn't get overheated. It's always a humbling experience when you are around the children of Primary Childrens. Everybody there had their own story and own struggles they were going through. Some were very apparent, and others not as much. It is great to see how happy the kids were, and it made me remember how lucky we are to have Kadence and have her be as healthy as she is.

  1. Looks like you all had a good time. What a great time of year to go too! Not too hot, not too cold.
