Bingo and Stars

Every Friday is Bingo night at Shriners thanks to a volunteer named Michael.  It was a great distraction because Kadence was only one day out from surgery.  I didn't realize just how serious this Bingo game would be.  It was official cards and everything.  We all had a lot of fun and the girls won a lot of prizes!
Michael invited us out after Bingo to look through a telescope.  We weren't really used to the halo and walker at this point, but figured we'd head out and see what we could make work.  Kadence was already exhausted from her already long day and it was getting pretty late but Michael kept asking if they wanted to see something new, a new lens, a new tint....It made for a long night but it was so so nice of him and all of us enjoyed it despite being exhausted.

Here's Kadence holding a moon rock (I told you she was really tired, look at that face!)
Michael was a genius and told me I could put my camera phone lens up to the telescope lens and take a picture.  Here is Jupiter and it's 4 moons.  The circle in on the upper left is a reflection not something neat.
Here's the moon.  It's pretty cool to be able to see the craters when you zoom in on this.  Shelby got excited thinking there was a green planet, but it's just a weird reflection.
We loved being outside talking to Michael because it wasn't about anything medical.  It is so nice to know there are people willing to sacrifice their time and energy to make the lives of others better.  We looked forward to Bingo every Friday and the girls were so disappointed we went home on a Thursday because it meant they missed out on Bingo.
